Trailer for upcoming Indian (Hindi) movie "Begum Jaan"

In 1947 “British India” was divided into two independent dominions, India and Pakistan through a border or a partition line. At one place the partition line falls within a brothel headed by “Begum jaan”. The story revolves around the brothel and its occupants, and their fight for existence.

“Begum jaan” is the Hindi remake of  much acclaimed Bengali movie “Rajkahini” released in 2015. Both  movies are directed by India's National award winning director Srijit Mukherji. While Vidya Balan plays the pivotal role of “Begum Jaan”, other important actors in the film are Naseeruddin Shah, Ashish Vidyarthi, Rajit Kapoor etc.  The film contains some beautiful melodies composed by Anu Malik, including the brilliant “Prem Mein Tohre”, sung by Asha Bhosle, which has already become a chartbuster.

“Begum Jaan” will hit the theatres on April 14 .
